Dansky.  \n\n \n\nPresented in conversation with SNMA Executive Director Hunter O'Hanian\, Steven F. Dansky will screen clips of LGBT interviews from his documentary\, Attend Me: A Pandemic Journal\, followed by a Q&A.\n\n \n\nThe full-length documentary\, Attend Me: A Pandemic Journal\, explores the LGBTQ experience during the coronavirus global pandemic through dozens of interviews in locations throughout the U.S. Juxtaposed against the interviews are coronavirus-referenced street-art murals painted on shutdown\, plywood boarded-up storefronts in the Arts District of Las Vegas.\n\n\n\n\n\nThe event\, free and open to the public and will be conducted via ZOOM.\n\nCLICK HERE TO REGISTER\n\n\n\nUpon registering a link and password will be automatically emailed to you.\n\n \n\nAbout Steven F. Dansky:\n\nSteven F. Dansky has been an activist\, writer\, and documentarian for more than 50 years.\n\n\n\n\n\nPre-Stonewall Rebellion\, he was in the civil rights and anti-war movements and was in Student for a Democratic Society (SDS). Post-Stonewall Rebellion\, he was prominent in the beginning of the LGBT movement and was a member of Gay Liberation Front (GLF). He is referenced as an influential forerunner in numerous books\, dating from 1969 to the present.\n\n\n\n\n\nDuring the early HIV/AIDS pandemic\, he wrote two books Now Dare Everything: Tales of HIV-Related Psychotherapy (1994) and Nobody's Children: Orphans of the HIV Epidemic (1997). As a healthcare administrator he worked in HIV/AIDS programs in the unserved communities of New York from Harlem to the South Bronx and Jamaica. He had a private psychotherapy practice for two decades\, serving an LGBT population.\n\nIn 2014\, he co-founded Outspoken: Oral History from LGBTQ Pioneers with John Knoebel\, interviewing more than one-hundred people each collected at ONE\, National Gay and Lesbian\, Archives\, University of Southern California\, Los Angeles with all interviews available at (www.outspoken-lgbtq.org). \n\n\n\n\n\nFor Outspoken Films\, he produced the documentaries\, Bookish: Reading the Queer Subject (2019)\, From Trauma to Activism (2017) (https://vimeo.com/ondemand/fromtraumatoactivism)\, and On Performing Identity: The Iconic Peter Hujar Photograph (2016).  \n\n\n\n\n\nDansky's essays have been anthologized in several books\, and he is a frequent contributor to the Gay and Lesbian Review. His photography has been in solo and group exhibitions and has been published in LensWork (2012)\; Art and Queer Culture (2013)\; and Protest!: Photographs of Social Justice in the 21st Century (2016).
