SUMMARY:Museum of Discovery and Science Wild Florida Offsite Excursion at Arthur R. Marshall Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge
DESCRIPTION:Join MODS for a journey through Arthur R. Marshall Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge\, a 226 square mile refuge dedicated to habitat preservation and animal conservation. Guests will take a hike along the Marsh Trail\, habitat to alligators\, mammals and a variety of incredible birds. Guests will visit a working 80-acre outdoor living laboratory (LILA) where scientists are testing techniques to help with Everglades restoration. Then\, explorers will "dip net" for macroinvertebrates that help with identifying water cleanliness and enjoy a boardwalk tour through a cypress swamp. The excursion is appropriate for all ages but recommended for children 5 years old and older. All children 17 years old and younger must be accompanied by an adult.\nAttendees must be able to walk long distances (more than a mile) over uneven terrain and must be comfortable around water. \n\nAll guests should bring:\n\n\n	A reusable water bottle\n	Sunscreen\n	Bug spray\n	Closed-toe shoes\n\n\nWHEN: March 26   9:45 a.m.   1 p.m.\n\n\n	9:45 a.m.: Guests check in at Marsh Trail parking lot\n	10 a.m.: Marsh Trail/LILA hike\n	11 a.m.: Dip netting on Marsh Trail or Pavilion\n	12 p.m.: Cypress Swamp Boardwalk tour
